Our weddings are often inspired by pop culture trends and events. Take a quick jog back
to memory lane, and then check out the Way Cool Wedding archives from that year! Remember when...

top traditional bridesmaids' dresses.

2004 Way Cool Weddings
It's all about reality TV show weddings, from "The Bachelorette" to "Newlyweds." None of

2001-2003 Way Cool Weddings
Same-sex marriage legalized in the Netherlands, Patriotic Weddings and Green Weddings are popularized,

1999 Way Cool Weddings
In the year of Y2K, everyone partied like it was 1999, with cross-dressing attendants (think groomsmaids and bridesmen)
and 2.4 million couples getting hitched! Toasts replaced the garter/ bouquet toss, and ethnic wedding
rituals became all the rage, according to theknot.com.

1998 Way Cool Weddings
A wacky year for weddings indeed, with the debut of the comedy classic "The Wedding Singer,"
a company called "Bridal Bounce" creating wedding tennis shoes for stiletto-phobic brides,
and "The YMCA" still the most popular wedding reception dance. Check out the suitably wacky
caricatures of 1998's winning couple, Heather and Rich!

1997 Way Cool Weddings
Princess Diana dies in a fatal car crash, but the tradition of the Princess wedding continues,
as seen her in Melissa and James's "storybook" wedding!

1996 Way Cool Weddings

recognized "Internet marrage", which united the lucky couple Lisa and Andrew.
